Megear Skysword Ⅱ EV Charger Features
We recommend the Megear Skysword Ⅱ Level 1-2 EV Charger for electric vehicle owners seeking a budget-friendly, durable, and portable charging solution. Its modular control box is built with a robust design to withstand the wear and tear typical of portable use. The LED indicators are slightly recessed within the control box, reducing the risk of scratches and damage if the unit is dropped or stored in a vehicle cabin or storage compartment.
While the charger lacks smart features, its four LED indicators provide up to 30 real-time status updates, alerting users to any issues. This makes the Megear Skysword Ⅱ Level 1-2 EV Charger easy to monitor and manage at a glance.
The Megear Skysword Ⅱ Level 1-2 EV Charger is equipped with a robust control box that incorporates multiple safety and protective features to ensure reliable and secure charging. Its leakage protection system automatically recovers after detecting and addressing leakage issues, allowing the charger to restart safely without manual intervention. The over-voltage and under-voltage protection continuously monitors the power supply, automatically correcting itself through a self-check function to prevent charging disruptions caused by unstable voltage levels. Additionally, lightning protection shields the charger from voltage surges during storms, while overheat protection ensures that the device safely moderates temperature, preventing damage from prolonged use or extreme heat.
A critical feature of the Megear Skysword Ⅱ is its ground fault detection system. If a ground fault occurs, the charger’s red indicator light will flash, alerting users to the issue while still allowing charging to continue under controlled conditions. Furthermore, the system is designed to trip the circuit breaker in case of a serious fault, providing an additional layer of safety. Together, these features make the Megear Skysword Ⅱ a reliable and safe choice for everyday EV charging needs.
Megear Skysword Ⅱ EV Charger Installation (USA – NEC)
The Megear Skysword Ⅱ Level 1-2 EV Charger features a NEMA 6-20 plug and a convenient NEMA 5-15 adapter if you have purchased the EV charger as your main home EV charger, we recommend installing its electric vehicle branch circuit with a NEM 6-20 outlet, instead of a NEMA 5-15 outlet, we don’t recommend using a NEMA 5-15 adapter in your main electric vehicle branch circuit installation, instead use the adapter when on the move and the only outlet available is the NEMA 5-15 outlet, an adapter can cause issues such as compatibility issues, reduced charging efficiencies, increased risk of overheating, mechanical failures, safety hazards, and charging confusions which can lead to user error and frustration.
NEMA 6-20 installation for Megear Skysword Ⅱ EV Charger (USA – NEC)
