Lucid Motors Logo

Lucid Motors is an American electric vehicle manufacturer founded in 2007 and headquartered in Newark, California. Originally focused on electric vehicle battery technology, Lucid shifted its focus to producing luxury electric vehicles with industry-leading range and performance. The company has quickly established itself as a serious competitor in the premium EV space.

The Lucid Air is the brand’s flagship electric sedan and one of the most impressive EVs ever made. In its top configuration, the Lucid Air Grand Touring and Sapphire editions deliver over 400 miles of real-world range — more than any other electric vehicle on the market. The car also offers extraordinary performance, with the Sapphire version producing over 1,200 horsepower.

Lucid’s proprietary Wunderbox charging technology enables the Air to accept both AC and DC charging with exceptional efficiency. At home, the Lucid Air can accept up to 19.2 kW of AC charging, which is significantly faster than most other EVs. This means a full charge at home takes far less time than with a standard 11 kW setup.

To take full advantage of the Lucid Air’s home charging capability, owners need a Level 2 charger that can deliver at least 80 amps at 240 volts. Lucid offers its own home charging unit, but the vehicle is also compatible with high-output third-party Level 2 chargers.

The Lucid Air uses a J1772 connector for Level 2 AC home charging and a CCS connector for DC fast charging at public stations. Lucid also provides access to its own growing network of fast charging stations across the United States.

This hub covers Lucid EV charger reviews, setup tips, and home charging accessories specifically for Lucid Air owners who want to maximize the impressive home charging capability of their vehicle.
