Volkswagen Logo

Volkswagen is a German automaker founded in 1937 and headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany. One of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world, Volkswagen has committed to one of the most ambitious electrification programs in the automotive industry. The brand’s ID. series represents a clean-sheet approach to electric vehicle design built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is the brand’s flagship electric SUV in the United States and one of the most popular EVs in its segment. It offers a spacious interior, smooth ride, and competitive range in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The ID.4 has earned praise for its practicality and value.

The Volkswagen ID.7 is a sleek electric sedan aimed at the premium market, offering a longer wheelbase, an elegant interior, and impressive efficiency. Volkswagen also offers the ID.Buzz, an electric revival of the iconic VW Microbus, which has become one of the most anticipated and beloved EVs of recent years.

Volkswagen EVs use a standard J1772 connector for Level 2 home AC charging and CCS for DC fast charging. The ID.4 supports up to 11 kW of AC charging at home, making a 48-amp Level 2 charger the ideal setup for overnight charging. Using a smart charger with scheduling helps VW EV owners take advantage of off-peak electricity rates.

Volkswagen’s myVW app allows drivers to manage charging sessions remotely, set charging schedules, and monitor battery status from their smartphone. The vehicles also support automatic climate preconditioning while plugged in.

This hub offers Volkswagen EV charger reviews, home charging setup tips, and accessory recommendations for all Volkswagen electric vehicles, including the ID.4, ID.7, and ID.Buzz.
