EvoCharge iEVSE® Home 32 Smart Level 2 EV Charger Review
The EvoCharge iEVSE® Home 32 Smart Level 2 EV Charger offers up to 32 Amps of 240V charging, delivering up to 25 miles of range per hour. With WiFi connectivity, a 25-foot cable, and a NEMA 6-50 plug, it’s UL-listed for safety and suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.
The EvoCharge iEVSE® Home 32 delivers fast, reliable home charging with a maximum output of 32 amps (7.68 kW) at 240 volts, providing roughly 32 miles of range per hour, dependable home charging with up to eight times the speed of a standard Level 1 charger, depending on your vehicle and electrical setup. It features a convenient 240V NEMA 6-50 plug for easy plug-and-play installation, making it ideal for typical residential use. The charger is UL-listed and Energy Star Certified, ensuring safety and energy efficiency.
For those who prefer a hardwired installation or require higher charging power, we recommend the EvoCharge Home 50 model. Unlike the Home 32’s plug-in design, the Home 50 supports a hardwired connection and delivers up to 50 amps (12 kW), offering faster charging speeds of approximately 45 miles of range per hour, while maintaining the same reliable performance and certifications.
The EvoCharge charger works with all EVs sold in North America, including Tesla models using the J1772 adapter. It connects via Wi-Fi and is controlled through the Epic Charging app after the transition from the original EvoCharge app in late 2025.
Through the Epic charging app, you can schedule charging, manage multiple stations, track usage, and set preferences from your phone. This adds convenience and flexibility for users.
However, as long-time users of the Evo charge app, we discovered issues with the app transition to the Epic charging App. There were connectivity problems, occasional glitches, and confusion with some features. Because of these challenges, we lowered the features rating from 8.5 in 2025 to 8 in 2026.
In addition to its functionality, the EvoCharge iEVSE® Home 32 charger is eligible for rebates, depending on your location. State, federal, and local utility programs may offer money back on the purchase or installation, making it a cost-effective option for many users.
The charger has a sleek design and is easy to use. The Wi-Fi feature lets you charge at your convenience, whether through plug-and-charge, scheduling, or using the Epic charging app to monitor its charging data.
EvoCharge iEVSE® Home 32 Smart Level 2 EV Charger Installation Guide (NEMA 6-50 Outlet)
The EvoCharge iEVSE® Home 32 Smart Level 2 EV Charger is designed to work with a NEMA 6-50 outlet. The NEMA 6-50R outlet features two parallel hot prongs, with the larger prong positioned on the right, and a horseshoe-shaped ground prong.
