Tesla Wall Connector Firmware Updates

Electric Vehicle Geek tracked Tesla Wall Connector firmware updates to gain a deeper understanding of how Tesla maintains and evolves its EV chargers (Tesla Gen 3 and Universal Wall Connector). These updates often roll out quietly but play a critical role in overall charging performance.

Tesla Wall Connectors receive regular firmware updates that enhance charging reliability, improve safety logic, maintain network stability, and ensure vehicle compatibility. While Tesla rarely publishes detailed change logs, firmware version distribution reveals how updates are prioritized and deployed in the real world.

What Is the Latest Tesla Wall Connector Firmware We’re Running?

On our Tesla Wall Connector, the latest firmware currently installed is version 25.42.2. This update was pushed automatically over Wi-Fi in December 2025, with no option for manual intervention. We did not initiate the update; it arrived as part of Tesla’s standard OTA rollout.

Note: Tesla does not release firmware globally at once. Even today, many Wall Connectors remain on older versions depending on location, Wi-Fi uptime, and Tesla’s rollout group assignment.
