The 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with a 17.3-kWh lithium-ion battery and a 7.7-kW onboard charging module. It has an EPA-rated all-electric range of 21 miles (34 km) and a combined efficiency rating of 49 MPGe (equivalent to 73 kWh/100 mi or 45.4 kWh/100 km).

The Jeep 4xe features a standard SAE J1772 charging port compatible with both SAE Level 1 and Level 2 EV chargers using a 5-pin J1772 connector. It supports AC Level 1 charging (120V, 12–16 amps) with the included Jeep Mopar portable charger, providing approximately 2–3 miles (3.2–4.8 km) of electric range per hour. For faster home charging, it supports AC Level 2 charging (240V, up to 32 amps), delivering up to 12 miles (19 km) of range per hour.

For home charging, we recommend a 32-amp Level 2 SAE J1772 charger with advanced inbuilt safety features to address common Jeep 4xe charging issues, such as “Service Charging System” warnings, Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM) faults, slow charging, or inconsistent power delivery.

Step 2

Level 1 charging uses a regular household outlet and provides the slowest charge. It’s typically included with the vehicle.

Step 3

Level 2 charging delivers faster speeds using a 240V circuit. It’s the most popular choice for home EV charging setups.

Step 4

Level 3 (DC fast charging) offers rapid charging at public stations. It’s not suited for residential installation.
