The TayMac MX3200 Extra Duty EV Charger Outlet Cover is an excellent solution for protecting outdoor EV charger outlets. UL listed for wet and damp locations, it provides reliable protection against rain, snow, and harsh weather conditions, ensuring your EV charger is safe for years. It’s a solid upgrade from plastic covers commonly found at hardware stores, which wear out much faster.

The installation process is quick and simple, thanks to the Quick-Fit keyhole mounting system and patented EZ Change Pin, which allows for both horizontal and vertical mounting. Once installed on a horizontal box, the cover drops into place by gravity, making it easy to secure. The design also allows for clearance below the box for the EV charging cord to exit properly.

Made from heavy-duty die-cast aluminum, the TayMac MX3200 is both sturdy and secure, built to withstand the elements much longer than plastic alternatives. It offers ample space for the charging cord and includes a gasket and mounting hardware for a tight, weatherproof seal. However, it’s important to ensure there is adequate clearance below the box for the charging cord.

Safety is a key feature, as the cover is tested and certified to cULus and NEMA standards. While the lockable tab adds an extra layer of security, the lock loop is relatively weak. Due to this, we recommend considering an additional EV charger lock box for enhanced protection against theft and tampering.
