Hyundai IONIQ 6 Long Range SoC Test Living With 48A ChargePoint Home Flex

The chart provides a detailed breakdown of the 14-day charging and discharging patterns observed during our test drive of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 Long Range. Over this period, we covered between 150 and 250 miles per day, except for the first and last days when we drove only 50 miles—initially to pick up the vehicle and finally to return it. This data offers valuable insights into the vehicle’s State of Charge (SoC) behavior, energy consumption, and charging efficiency.On Day 1, we drove 50 miles, resulting in a 15.0% SoC reduction, before charging 20.9 kWh in 2.0 hours, increasing the SoC from 80.0% to 92.0%. The next few days followed a consistent pattern, with 150-mile trips depleting approximately 45.1% of the battery and 200-mile trips reducing SoC by 60.1%. Charging sessions varied in duration and energy input, ranging from 2.5 to 5.0 hours, depending on the depletion level.By Day 4, after a 150-mile drive, we charged 41.8 kWh in 4.0 hours, pushing the SoC to 90.3%. However, the subsequent days saw a gradual decline in maximum SoC levels, as partial charging sessions became the norm. For instance, on Day 6, a 200-mile drive dropped the SoC to 83.3% after charging 47.0 kWh in 4.5 hours, and by Day 12, the SoC had fallen to 90.3% despite consistent charging.On Day 13, after a 200-mile trip, we performed one of the largest charging sessions, replenishing 47.0 kWh in 4.5 hours, bringing the SoC back up to 91.0%. Finally, on Day 14, after a short 50-mile drive, we did not charge the vehicle, leaving the battery at 76.0%.
